What is OWL?
OWL is a national membership organization concerned with the problems of midlife and older women. These are the same issues that younger women can expect to encounter as they grow older. OWL offers women opportunities for socialization and lasting friendships.

Mission Statement
Through research, education, and advocacy, OWL provides support for its members, works to improve the image and status of older women, and helps them achieve economic and social equity.
OWL Priorities
- National, universal healthcare, accessible to all with more research addressing wormen's health issues.
- A Social Security System that equitably and adequately reflects the work and life patters of all women.
- Close the earnings gap between men and women throughout their lifespan. Ensure that all women workers hav access to adequate pension coverage, making pensions portable and equitable.
- Affordable, adaptable, non-discriminatory and accessible housing, offering housing alternatives to accommodate the diverse life circumstances of midlife and older women.
- Acknowledge and improve the economic and social consequences of caregiving.
- Help midlife and older women remain in control of decisions affecting their quality of life through the end of life, using living wills, powers of attorney and medical directives, etc.
- End violence against women and the elderly, including: domestic violence, elder abuse, street violence, incest and rape, institutional violence, and fraudulent acts that target the older population.
