Application for Membership
OWL is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization. All contributions to OWL are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. OWL keeps annual dues below actual budget costs to make membership affordable for older women on a limited income.

Women of all ages need OWL because...
- Women now retire on less than half of what men do.
- Many women have no access to pensions when they retire.
- The average age of widowhood is 56.
- One-third of all widows live below the official poverty line.
- The unemployment rate for older women is twice that of older men. Those who have jobs get paid less for comparable work.
- More than four million women between age 45 and 65 have no health insurance.
- Older women are one of the poorest groups in Ameican society. Most of these women live alone.
- Seventy-five percent of caregivers are female, many of whom give up income and future Social Security benefits becuase of caregiving responsibilities.
